How to Easily Grow a Targeted Twitter Tribe with ManageFlitter’s Power Mode

Sharing is caring!

As you might already have found out – we are fans of a Twitter tool called ManageFlitter. We have already written a review about it, and we are constant users – because it offers incredible features to manage and grow Followers for Twitter accounts of any size.

Today I want to show you how to make sure that your Twitter followers are actually interested in what you have to tell them. Because you can have 100s and 1000s of followers and they can still be useless for you – if they are not interested.

So, let’s get to it.

Targeting on Twitter is actually pretty easy if you follow the below process. I use ManageFlitter for this and it has paid itself off many times over.

Before you read on - we have various resources that show you exactly how to use social networks to gain massive traffic and leads. For instance, check out the following:

Step 1

The first step is to find popular people on Twitter that are talking about the same topics as you are. For me that would be influencers in “Social Media Marketing”, “Marketing”, “B2B Marketing” and similar.

In ManageFlitter, I select “Search->Account Search”. When it opens I don’t search via the “All fields” but select “refine” on the right side of the search box.

I then put “Social Media Marketing” in the Bio field, but I’m not yet done: I am looking for popular people, so I scroll down to Selecting minimal amount of people following and enter “20000”.

For this search, I get a few spam accounts, but I also get Ann Tran, Mari Smith, Glen Gilmore and more on the first page, and all of these are well-known influencers in this topic. You can, of course, refine your keywords or lower the followers limit to get better results.

Write down the influencers that seem real to you.

Step 2

ManageFlitter has something called a “Power Mode”. This is a great way of saving hours of time here and make sure you follow relevant people.

Power Mode allows you to create filters for the last couple of 1000s Followers that have followed an influencer. You can filter these by various criteria and ManageFlitter updates the list automatically and therefore makes sure that you always have a list of fresh and relevant people at your hand that are interested in your topics. Here is how to do it:

I select “Manage->Power Mode”.

There I click on “Create Filter”.

Under “Data Sources” I enter the Twitter handle for one of the influencers and also select “People not following you”. I leave the number of accounts to examine at 1000. Then I select a few very important options from the filtering methods below. You should have a look at all of them though to select what applies to your scenario, but the following are very important to me:

After selecting all of these criteria, my results for @GlenGilmore show me 273 accounts. I have just narrowed down a list of 1000 vaguely interesting accounts to a list of 273 highly interesting accounts!

I now click on save and save this search. After I’ve done this, ManageFlitter will update my Filter every other day and I always have interesting accounts to follow at my hands.

Step 3:

From there it is the standard Follow-Unfollow procedure. Every day you will have to follow a couple of accounts and unfollow a few of those who did not follow back.
